They chose to be catty about Perez’s community activism and about her dedication to youth sports, particularly soccer. Yes, she volunteers widely at all the schools, to distribute food from the food bank, and ensures that Indiantown’s teachers and staff know they are appreciated. Angelina Perez is entrenched in this community.
That long-standing, deep involvement gives her an edge over any other candidate vying for her seat. Where have Anthony Dowling and Ana Farias been over the past four years? Certainly not working to improve the lives of those within our community.
The value Angelina Perez brings to the Village Council, which her critics overlook, is that residents talk to her and share their concerns on the soccer field, in all the schools, at the grocery or the car wash. She listens, and what she hears from them informs her decisions.
