LET THE GAMES BEGIN ! SUNDAY UPDATE WITH NOMO

You just cannot write a script like this and make it look real. Just by applying the slightest bit of attention, any rational human should be able to wake up and grasp the wholesale sellout of Indiantown that is taking place.

If Angelina could learn to say anything but “yes” and “What do you think Mr. Attorney?”, she might not seem so intellectually overwhelmed.

Mrs. Palmer’s statement from the meeting that sticks out the most to me was simple, I am para phrasing, but if you listen to her you will hear it. She said along the lines of, either this council gets it’s act together or nobody is gonna trust this government and that is not going to be good.

Theย Virginia-based Piedmont Environmental Council has monitored the growth and effects of data centers and commissioned a study on the human health impacts and costs of the Vantage Data Center in Loudoun County. That study found:

A facilityโ€™s permitted emissions are estimated to result in between $53-99 million per year in health-related damages.

These damages are driven primarily by an estimated 3.4-6.5 additional premature deaths per year across the impacted region, along with hospital admissions, asthma and lost productivity.

If annual impacts remain at this level, total estimated health damages would add up to $265 million over five years and costs would increase to $1.59-$2.97 billion over 30 years

An estimated increase of 17-33 premature deaths over five years and 102-195 premature deaths over 30 years.

Hispanic and Asian residents in southeast Loudoun County are exposed to the highest levels. The areas are designated as Environmental Justice communities, which face disproportionate burdens from industrial pollution, traffic and hazardous sites.

Data centers are buildings or groups of buildings that house servers, hardware, networking equipment and other computing technologies. Because AI uses so much more data than our previous simple computing, they need more room for more storage, which means more problems. Data centers:

  • Strip rural areas of environmental habitat
  • Create air, water, light and noise pollution
  • Consume vast amounts of water and electricity
  • Exacerbate the use of fossil fuels, which intensifies climate change
  • Increase premature deaths, illnesses and hospitalizations for heart, stroke and respiratory issues such as asthma, according to one study.
