Dipaolo offered further explanation of his solitary actions.

“Every single day I’m speaking to investors to bring them in here, to get this tax base up, to get houses up,” he said “I look for things and I find things. Nobody came to me with this: It was something that was brought to my attention, and it wasn’t by staff. This is why I’m bringing it up now. There’s a lot of other things I’m working on that nobody knows what I’m doing. When the time comes, I will bring it up to Council.”

Dipaolo continued to criticize the Civic Center.
