On April 30, 2026, the Village of Indiantown—a municipality incorporated only on December 31, 2017, with a population of approximately 6,700—approved the Tesoro Groves Planned Unit Development. The project encompasses 5,722 acres of recently annexed agricultural land, rezoned from A-2 Agricultural (Martin County) to a Planned Unit Development permitting light industrial uses. The applicant, Tesoro Groves, LLC / Florida Power & Light Company (NextEra Energy), stands as one of the largest and most sophisticated utility and development interests in the United States.
