The residents’ briefing
Water, power, noise, heat, jobs — and the questions that belong in the company room.
Town Hall 4.0 is the residents’ briefing — water, power, noise, heat, jobs, and the questions that belong in the company room — before the open house is the only version anyone hears.

What other towns already learned
Fort Wayne, IN — Google
Regulators approved filling more forested wetlands for a third expansion phase after residents asked for a denial at the hearing.
Morgan County, IN — Google
The operator stayed behind shell companies until after rezoning. Farmland became a multi-building campus. Water and power numbers showed up later.
Temple, TX — Meta
A 760,000 sq ft AI hall on 400 acres. About 100 permanent jobs after a construction surge of roughly 1,200.
Lebanon, IN — Meta
A $10 billion, 1-gigawatt campus. Peak construction in the thousands. About 300 permanent jobs when running.
The ask
- Be at IVA Saturday. Hear the load in plain language before the company version is the only version in the room.
- Carry the question sheet to the Google open house. Water source and gallons. Firm megawatts and who pays. Noise at the fence, including low-frequency. Backup generators and air permits. Wetland acres. Permanent local jobs.
- Tell Village Council and County Commission: no data-center use treated as already allowed until water, power, noise, heat, and wetland studies are on the public record.
- Do not accept “light industrial” or “data processing” as a substitute for a hyperscale review. Scale is the issue.
- Bring two neighbors. This only works if the room is full.

Questions for the open house
Write the answers down. If they cannot answer on the spot, ask when the number will be on the public record.
Take these to the open house
- Where does the water come from, how many gallons on a peak day, and where does heat-reject water go?
- What is the firm megawatt load, and who pays for new generation and transmission — the company or the ratepayer?
- What is the noise limit at the nearest house, including low-frequency rumble, at 3 a.m.?
- How many backup generators, what fuel, and what air permit?
- How many permanent local jobs after construction ends — not the peak headcount on the rendering?
Public reporting used for the other-town facts
